JEWELRY MATERIALS & CARE
A Note About Materials
Designers Home sells curated jewelry in multiple aesthetics and price points. Materials can vary between collections and between pieces inside a mystery assortment.
The product page should identify the materials or material categories that are known for that listing. Because mystery assortments can contain mixed pieces, customers should not assume every item has the same metal, plating, stone, or finish.
We do not claim that an item is:
· 925 sterling silver
· Solid gold
· Gold-filled
· Natural gemstone
· Nickel-free
· Lead-free
· Hypoallergenic
· Waterproof
· Tarnish-proof
· Antique
· Vintage
unless that claim is expressly stated and verified for the applicable item or product.

Metal Sensitivities & Allergies
Jewelry can contain metals or finishes that may irritate sensitive skin.
If you have a known metal allergy or sensitivity, review the product description before ordering and contact us before purchase if you need clarification. A general style preference note is not a medical or allergy guarantee.
If a listing does not expressly state that a material is nickel-free, hypoallergenic, or suitable for a specific sensitivity, do not assume that it is.
Earrings & Hygiene
For hygiene-sensitive jewelry, condition and return eligibility may differ after a seal or protective packaging is opened where permitted by law.
Pre-owned or pre-loved earrings should never be included unless their condition is explicitly disclosed and the sale complies with applicable hygiene and consumer rules.
New, Vintage-Inspired & Pre-Loved Pieces
“Vintage-inspired” describes an aesthetic and does not mean an item is antique or pre-owned.
If a collection may include pre-loved or previously owned pieces, that condition must be clearly disclosed on the product page before purchase. Customers should not receive undisclosed pre-owned pieces in a listing presented as new merchandise.
Natural Variation
If a product includes natural stones, shells, pearls, or other naturally variable materials, color, pattern, inclusions, shape, and texture may vary. These variations are not automatically defects.
Only use “natural,” “genuine,” or species-specific material names when verified.
General Jewelry Care
To extend the life of fashion jewelry:
· Keep pieces dry when possible.
· Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping.
· Avoid direct contact with perfume, hairspray, lotion, cleaning products, and household chemicals.
· Put jewelry on after cosmetics and fragrance have dried.
· Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear.
· Store pieces separately to reduce scratches, tangles, and rubbing.
· Keep jewelry away from prolonged heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.
Plated & Fashion Jewelry
Plated finishes can gradually wear or change with friction, moisture, body chemistry, cosmetics, and time. This is normal wear and is not the same as a manufacturing defect.
Do not use abrasive polish or harsh chemical cleaner on plated pieces unless the product instructions specifically allow it.
Stones, Pearls, Resin & Delicate Details
Avoid soaking glued, resin, pearl, rhinestone, or delicate decorative pieces. Use a soft dry cloth and gentle handling.
Storage
Store jewelry in a dry pouch, compartment, or box. Keep chains fastened when possible and separate delicate pieces from harder metal surfaces.
Safety
Jewelry contains small parts and may present a choking hazard. Keep away from young children and pets.
Fashion jewelry is not medical equipment, protective equipment, or a spiritual treatment. Symbolic motifs are decorative and do not guarantee health, protection, luck, wealth, relationships, or supernatural results.
